The Gilded Glossary

Undusting the meaning behind our language;

Unlocking the power to call it like it is.

Adult (n)

The being who lives in harmony,

With rational thought and childish whim.

(He who forsakes this childish delight

Would forsake himself).

Although age appears to track with adulthood,

It rarely does today.

Wisdom being the better measure of man.

Anti-Human Story (n)

A story designed to dampen

The indomitable human spirit, if for a moment,

And reap its teller the dark energies of despair

[Which generate immense, illusory gains].

Cooperation (n)

Where two of the same mind achieve more

Than either could on his own.

(to) Gild (v)

To convey our common nature,

of essential goodness and capability, to another,

And spark the growth of consciousness,

That we each felt when someone once ignited

Dreams of our own.

Gilded (adj)
1

Describes one who believes in their essential goodness.

The quality of a person who humbly accepts

The responsibility of his inner design to fluorish and,

By doing so cause all nearby things to fluorish.

Gilded (adj)

In contrast to his surroundings.

Gilded (adj)
3

With enthusiasm and excitement.

Old Age (n)

The privilege of witnessing a young man take up

The weight of our shared fate,

Guided by elder wisdom which he seeks because he lacks.

Guardian of self-knowledge, shepherd of the lambs,

A position of immense esteem;

The silver-haired head is a crown of glory.

School (n)

« Is it surprising that prisons resemble

Factories, schools, barracks, hospitals,

Which all resemble prisons? »

- Michel Foucault 1975

Smartness (n)

Western society’s current, unstated objective.

Mistaken for intelligence.

In reality, a measure of one’s ability to cold-calculate

Ideas and numbers. Not so different from a computer.

Not inherently moral. And too easily capable of cruel inhumanity,

When bereft of self-awareness and sympathy.

Unconditional Optimization Imperative (n)

The pandemic Western disease of impatiently seeking

Unlimited growth (“progress”) for its own sake.

A behavior remarkably and regrettably identical to the cancer cell.

Blinded by an obssession with tangible form,

To the exclusion of all non-tangible energy,

Confuses growth for an exclusively linear,

Instead of inner, process.

Youth (n)
1

Your essence, verve, and lustre.

Age irrevelant.

That fire inside of you which the heartless

Would extinguish if they could;

Defend it to the end.

Youth (n)
2

Those beings who breathe fresh life into others;

Who witness atrocity, lunacy, and laugh anyway.
